Scores of People Killed in Mile 12 Market Fight Between Hoodlums.

A bloody clash in the Mile 12 Market axis of Lagos State is reportedly going on now. Scores of people are reportedly killed while some policemen have been critically injured by hoodlums in a riot at the Lagos popular perishable market.
The clash among hoodlums has made Ikorodu inaccessible presently while the long stretch of the road from Ketu and from the opposite are deserted.
The market was hurriedly shut while shops in the environs were also locked as people ran helter skelter in a bid to avoid been caught in the mêlée
It was learnt that a detachment of soldiers have arrived at the market to restore peace while the market has been closed.
Trouble was said to have been ignited when a commercial motorcyclist who is believed to be from the north allegely injured a Yoruba boy in an accident at Agiliti area of Mile 12.
This was said to have degenerated into what appears to be a communal clash between Yorubas and Hausas who have remained rivals over the control of the market for over a period of time.
A school within the vicinity was said to have been set ablaze, while the roiters vandalised vehicles caught in the fight.
In fact sources in the market said the relationship between the two ethnic groups is that of cat and mouse. Any little argument have always sparked off orgy of killing in the area.
