Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Mother of Kano House Member

The mother of Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim, a member of the Kano State House of Assembly representing Doguwa Constituency, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The incident which took place, Sunday, was said to have taken place in Ririwai town close to the notorious Falgore forest known to be hideout for criminals.
Alhaji Ibrahim confirmed the incident to newsmen in Kano on Monday.
According to Ibrahim: “My step mother, Hajiya Hafsat Abubakar, was in her room when they invaded the house.”
He said that the abductors had since demanded for N50 million ransom from the family.
When contacted, the Police Commissioner, Muhammad Katsina, confirmed the incident and disclosed that four suspects had been arrested.
“We have arrested four persons in connection with the issue and they are helping our investigation.
“Their intention was to kidnap the member,” the police official said.
He said that the command’s anti-kidnapping squad was already combing the Falgore forest to rescue the elderly woman.
The police boss noted that the kidnappers were Fulani men engaged in cattle rustling.
