The crisis rocking the Edo All Progressives Party deepened Tuesday as the Edo State House of Assembly has removed its Speaker, Victor Edoror, who represents Esan Central in the House.
Edo APC has been embroiled in succession crisis in the past few weeks. It has been a kind of cold war between Gov. Adams Oshiomhole and his Deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu.
First, the Governor accused his Deputy of planning with native doctors to kill him through witchcraft because of his refusal to support Odubu’s governorship ambition.
Last weekend the Deputy was shot at in Fugar, Oshiomhole’s local government area on the ground that he (Deputy Gov.) Should not campaign there.
However, there has been rumours of Edoror’s impending mpeachment allegedly financed by the Governor. Both parties had denied it.
It is not yet clear on what ground Edoror was impreached, Tuesday, at the time of filing the report.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Ativie, who represents Uwhuode Local Government has been elected as the first female Speaker of the House.
