EFCC Arrests Edo PDP Chair over N700m Campaign Funds


Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih,i s reported to have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

His arrest followed the N700million presidential campaign funds he was alleged to have received for the Jonathan Campaign Organisation.

The anti graft body was also said to have arrested the Co-ordinator of the campaign organization of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Edo state, and gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of PDP, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Mr Patrick Aziegbeni to Port Harcourt for further investigations on how the N700million campaign fund was expended in the state.

Ize-Iyamu had earlier said he went to collect the money from Fidelity Bank, Benin branch on the instruction of the Chairman of the party in state and thereafter handed it over.

Ize-Iyamu had said also that Aziegbeni and a former Deputy Governor of the state, Lucky Imasuen witnessed the handing over of the cash, which he (Ize-Iyamu), took to the residence of a leader of the party where it was shared to party executives in the 18 Local Government Areas.
