Amina Ali, one of the kidnapped schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State, in 2014, and rescued by the civilian JTF, Wednesday, is said to have arrived the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Thursday afternoon, for a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
She was accompanied by the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima; and military chiefs. The girl’s face was covered.
Members of the civilian JTF in Borno state reportedly rescued one of the 219 Chibok school girls abducted by Boko Haram from their school hostel in 2014.
The girl was rescued after a gunfight between the civilian JTF and Boko Haram at a forest in Borno State.
Later, the Nigerian Army confirmed the rescue.
Acting Director Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman said in a statement: “Preliminary investigation shows that she is indeed one of the abducted Chibok School girls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists on 14th April 2014 in Chibok and her name is Amina Ali as against Falmata Mbalala that was earlier stated.
“In addition, she is a nursing mother with a 4 month old baby girl who was named Safiya. “Both the suspected Boko Haram terrorist and the nursing mother have been taken to Maiduguri for further medical attention and screenin.”
Recalled that following reports, Wednesday, that one of the 276 Chibok School girls abducted on April 14, 2014 by the Islamist group, Boko Haram has been found, controversy however emanated as to the real name of the girl. While the activist who found the girl gave her name as Amina Ali, the Nigerian Army, in a confirmatory statement issued on Wednesday confirmed this.
