Senator Anyanwu, Ahamba to Explain Role in Fidelity Bank Loot Sharing


In continuation of locating billions of Naira stashed by public Officers in the build up to the elections of 2015, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has quizzed two leading politicians in connection with the $115 million cash disbursed by Fidelity Bank.

The money was said to have been disbursed on the instruction of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

In relation to the disbursement, Senator Chris Anyanwu and Mike Ahamba, were said to have been taken in by the anti-graft body for many hours on Thursday to explain what they did with the N700 million they allegedly got from the sleaze..

The two PDP leaders were reportedly invited to the Enugu Office of the EFCC and questioned by the operatives on the said fund but granted administrative bail and asked to report back for further investigation.

A top source in the Commission said that the two politicians who worked for the PDP at the time, received the N700 million from the Ikenebu Layout Branch of Fidelity Bank in Owerri in 2015.
