Edo PDP Berates Oshiomhole for Uneven Projects, as NURTW Denies Supporting Ize-Iyamu of PDP

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has defined as inhuman the concentration of developmental projects in the Edo North senatorial district of the state in small section of the district, promising to treat every community equally if elected into office.
The Redeemed Church Pastor said it was wicked that there is no functional health facility in the entire Etsako East Local Government Area and that the existing health facilities in the council have been abandoned by the state government.
Ize-Iyamu, who spoke in Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area, when he took his campaign to the area, said a community such as Agenebode, that is situated at the bank of the River Niger, ought to be a tourist centre and a rich commercial hub.
He regretted that the only tertiary institution in the Agenebode, the College of Agriculture, Agenebode, has been neglected and that the state government has not developed the college in about eight years.
He said the local government voted for Governor Oshiomhole and his party in the past but got nothing back from him, pointing out that the state government has failed to make use of the agricultural potentials and the mineral resources in this council to develop it and create employment.
He assured that he will create a scheme that will tap the rich human and natural resources in the area so as to make their women and youths exploit and explore their proximity to the River Niger.
Also speaking, Edo State PDP chairman, Dan Orbih, regretted that Governor Oshiomhole’s Iyamho community has been the beneficiary of virtually all the projects undertaken in the Edo North area by Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by a former APC Ward 2 chairman in the council, John Odidi, were received into the PDP.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Edo ‘S chapter, Comrade Odion Olaye has described as misleading, reports that the union had endorsed Pastor Ize-Iyamu.
Rather he said the union is solidly behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Godwin Obaseki in the forthcoming governorship election, and appealed to the state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike to arrest one Warriman Erhengbo whom he described as an impersonator.
According to him, “ I was just sworn in last month on the 2nd as chairman of NURTW in the state and I have my certificate right here in my office. I know Erhengbo as a security man at Egor. I was sworn in by the national President, Alhaji Najin Usman Yasin with the General Secretary, Comrade Clement Wesco.
“After my swearing in we all went to pay a courtesy visit on Governor Adams Oshiomhole. So I am shocked when we read about somebody saying NURTW is supporting Ize-Iyamu. If that impostor wants to play politics he should play it somewhere else. We have said it before now that we are backing the APC led government in the state because it has impacted positively on the lives of our people.
“So we are backing Godwin Obaseki for governorship. And it is also not true that the state government banned our association in the state. We are working in collaboration with Road Employers Association in rural areas. We have a 40/60 per cent agreement. The governor also promised us that the areas we are not operating on that, that we will soon commence operation and we are working out the modalities” he stated.
He continued, “we are appealing to the state Commissioner of Police to arrest Erhengbo because he is using the name of our union to play politics. We are backing Obaseki based on the performance of the APC led government in the state and his antecedent as a financial expert”.
