I’m not Ready to Dump Party I Worked For: Saraki Denies Defection Rumour

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has vehemently denied that he has jumped ship, dumping All Progressives Congress for Peoples Democratic Party.
In a statement on Thursday, Saraki said he remained committed to the ideals and agenda of the APC.
The statement signed by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Bamikole Omishore, which was a reaction to Wednesday’s insinuations in the media that he had defected, Saraki said he was not prepared to leave a party he that he helped nurtured and worked for during the 2015 elections.
Saraki said his media team was aware of a “false publication” making the rounds on social media.
“This fabrication is entirely untrue as the Senate President stands committed to the APC; a party that he helped midwife and worked for its victory in the 2015 elections,” the statement, which was posted on his Facebook page said.
The statement said Saraki attended the PDP event in “his official capacity as Senate President and chairman, National Assembly”.
“He attended the end of session event of the PDP caucus yesterday evening and spent only 30 minutes before leaving the members to continue with the event.
“The Senate President would like to assure every Nigerian that he is committed to the APC-led government and appreciates the confidence reposed in him and the APC during the 2015 General Elections, Saraki said.
