Nigerian Flying Eagles Out of Zambia 2017

The Nigerian U-20 team is out of contention in the AFCON U-20 Nations Cup in Zambia in 2017.
This followed their lacklustre performance against the Sudanese team in Lagos, Saturday afternoon.
Nigeria won the first leg 2-1 in Sudan, but the Young Falcons cruised through having scored more away goals after aggregate scores stood at 5-5. This is after the Flying Eagles lost on the away goals rule following a 4-3 loss on Saturday at Teslim stadium, Lagos.
Having won the first leg away from home a fortnight ago, many had expected the Flying Eagles to seal their place in Zambia in an emphatic style.
However, that was not the case as a more purposeful display by the Sudanese saw them snatch the ticket via the away goals rule.
That is the Sudanese team had more away goals than Nigeria. This effectively eliminated Nigeria from the U-20 All African Cup of Nations taking place in Zambia, 2017.
The 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will be the 20th edition of the biennial international youth football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for players under 20 years.
