Oshiomhole Running APC Campaign with State Money – Ize-Iyamu Campaign Team

The Pastor Osagie-Iyamu (POI) Media Campaign Team has raised the alarm that Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, was running the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate’s campaign in the September 10 governorship election, with State resources.
POI thus challenged the Comrade Governor to open the state books “to prove to us that he is not running the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaigns with public money.”
Godwin Obaseki, the Chairman of the state economic team is the APC candidate in the governorship election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Campaign Team threw the open challenge to the Governor through a statement made available to journalists in Benin on Sunday.
The team faulted what it tagged the new slogan of the new godfather, “who at every opportunity tells people that Pastor Ize-Iyamu is a treasury looter. Even now Oshiomhole’s Man Friday, Obaseki has caught the bug.
“What is very worrisome is the fact that Oshiomhole, who has been Governor for about eight years, suddenly now feigns ignorance of how government is run.
“In his administration, is he not the sole signatory to the treasury? Oshiomhole spends from the treasury in a way and manner that smacks of greed and corruption.”
Going further, POI Media Campaign Team cautioned Comrade Oshiomhole that he “should know better that being a Chief of Staff or Secretary to State Government does not grant an automatic access to the treasury.
“For a man who does not practice what he preaches to make statements like that shows his cruelty and deliberate attempt to twist facts as Edo people are now wiser and aware of his greed and tribal bigotry in trying to make his Uzairue clan dominate Edo State and this must be rejected.”
The team challenged Governor Oshiomhole to “as a matter of integrity like other state governors publish the true financial position of Edo.
“Edo State is indebted to the tune of over N300 billion due to over invoicing, inflation of contracts and brazing looting.”
Comrade Oshiomhole is bing accused of marginalising (Edo Central) Esan speaking people of the state.
Meanwhile, Pastor Ize-Iyamu said Oshiomhole was not speaking the truth when he said he carried payment of the 50 percent counterpart funding which enabled the state to access the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Funds in 2008.
The guber hopeful, who spoke in Igueben in continuation of his campaign tour of the Edo Central Senatorial District of the state, disclosed that it was the former Governor of the state, between May 29, 2007 and November 11, 2008, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, who actually paid the funds that attracted the balance 50 percent from the PDP led federal government presided over by the late President Umaru Musa Yar Adua.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu, asserted that Comrade Oshiomhole’s claim to “funding red roof schools in the state is a lie.
“The 40 percent that was paid as counterpart funds for the Universal Basic Education Commission funds was paid by Professor Osunbor, who could not access it because there was a case in court.”
The PDP governorship hopeful said that whereas the funds were meant to compliment the state government’s efforts in the rehabilitation of primary schools with provision of conducive learning environment and the employment of teachers, “for Oshiomhole it ended with red roofs for a few schools.”
Speaking on the video being aired in broadcast stations showing him praising Comrade Oshiomhole, Pastor Ize-Iyamu said: “He is showing a tape of me promoting him in his first term. Ask him what he has done in his second term. On it, everything you can point to are the things he did in his first term.”
He asserted that the College of Education, Igueben has suffered neglect under Governor Oshiomhole, adding that the government has pretended in the last seven and a half years like the institution is non-existent.
“There is nothing done that was done there by the state government.
“All the projects that you see there were done by the federal government using the tertiary education trust fund (TERTFUND). Left for the Governor he would close the place down”, Ize-Iyamu said.
