Saraki Re-composes Committees, Rewards His Critics with Juicy Portfolios

In a dramatic turn on Thursday, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, reshuffled the leaderships of the Senate’s committees, offering members of the Unity Forum, who have given him problems in the House, juicy portfolios.
Kabiru Marafa, a known critic of the Senate President was appointed Chairman of the Petroleum (downstream) Committee. He was Chairman of the Committee on National Population.
Oluremi Tinubu, whose brawl with another Senator, Dino Melaye, few days ago caused uproar in the country and a key member of the anti-Saraki Unity Forum, is now the Chairperson of the Committee on Environment. She formerly was in charge of the Committtee on Women Affairs.
Suleiman Hukunyi, another vocal critic of the Senate President, is now in charge of the Committee on National Identify.
Saraki also announced Senator Hope Uzodima as Chairman Senate Committee on Customs, Senator Baba kaka Garubai as Chairman Committee on Rules and Business, Senator Adokwe as Chairman Senate Committee on National Orientation and Information and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe as Chairman Committee on Power.
Others are Senator Joshua Dariye as Chairman Committee on public procurement, Senator Adamu Aliero as Chairman Committee on Aviation, Senator Daura Tijani as Chairman Committee on Federal Character.
