The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has postponed the Edo State Governorship election, the Street Journal can authoritatively report
The Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Services, DSS, had yesterday warned against going ahead with the poll, citing security concerns. It was gathered that the police had withdrawn all escort services to INEC staff citing security reasons.
However, the commission, earlier on Thursday, had insisted that the election will go on as scheduled. Reason for the latest change as at press time is still sketchy.
