Army Recovers Shekau’s Quran, Flag in Sambisa Forest

The Nigerian Army declared Wednesday that it recovered Abubakar Shekau’s Qur’an and flag in Camp Zero, the Boko Haram’s Headquarters in Sambisa forest.
Major General Lucky Irabor, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, said this while giving journalists update on “Operation Rescue Final” in Maiduguri.
“We believe that the Holy Book and the flag were abandoned by Abubakar Shekau while he escaped,” he said, indicating the Boko Haram leader may still be alive.
“The book will be taken to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Burutai, for onward presentation to Mr President.
“We have also made a lot of arrests. Our troops in Damboa arrested about 15 Boko Haram members. We also arrested one Musa from Potiskum on Christmas Day .
“On Dec. 26 our troops also intercepted two Boko Haram suspects in Maiduguri.
“We, therefore, warn residents of the state to be wary of people coming to hide in and around their houses.
“We are also warning residents to report any suspected Boko Haram members hiding in their houses to the relevant security agencies and any failure to do that would tantamount to supporting and sympathising with the sect’s activities,” Gen. Irabor said.
Meanwhile, more revelations have emerged concerning how members of the Boko Haram lived their lives in Sambisa forest where they formed a community with some of abducted victims.
This is revealed in series of videos emerging from Sambisa forest
One of the videos showed mass graves located at various areas of the forest.
Nigerian troops launched a successful attack on the vast forest last week Thursday and captured the area including the now renowned camp zero where Abubakar Shekau, a factional leader of the sect, was believed to have lived.
Though he was not captured in the latest attack, the Army and citizens of the country have been celebrating this feat.
Videos released on the Twitter handle of the All Progressives Congress (United Kingdom) also showed military personnel either preparing to attack the insurgents or carrying out other activities within the forest.
Some of the videos have a white journalist who recorded some of the scenes.
