Breaking: Protest Against Justice Kolawole, El-Zakzaky Release Ongoing

Protest by the Coalition on Good Governance and Change Initiative and other civil society groups against the order of an Abuja High Court presided over by Justice Gabriel Kolawole to release the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, is currently ongoing at the front gate of Federal High Court, Abuja.
Justice Kolawole had on Thursday last week ordered the Federal Government to release El-Zakzaky, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS) since December 14,2015 after members of the sect clashed with the retinue of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai.
Kolawole also ordered the Federal Government to pay El-Zakzaky and his wife N25m each for unlawful detention and provide them with accommodation, since their abode in Zaria, Kaduna State, has been destroyed by agents of the Federal Government.
