APC Removes Ndume as Senate leader

The Senate on Tuesday removed leader of the House, Senator Ali Ndume. This followed a letter by the caucus of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress members of the Senate.
Senate President Bukola Saraki had announced to the House that APC wanted Ndume removed as leader.
He read a letter to that effect, which he said was sent to him by the caucus of the party in the House.
The caucus elected to replace Ndume with Ahmed Lawan, their letter read by Saraki said.
The development sets ground for effective removal of Hon. Ndume as Senate Leader.
Addressing journalists after the Senate’s plenary, Ndume said the decision of the caucus to remove him as leader shocked him.
He said he was oblivious of what led to the decision or where the meeting was held to remove him.
Ndume represents Borno South.
