Donald Trump has been sworn in as 45th US president, taking over from President Obama. He took an oath of office to serve as the 45th president of the United States a few minutes ago, on the steps of Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
The inauguration began earlier in the day on January 20, 2017 with a Christian Church service in DC. The chief justice of the United States, John Roberts administered the oath of office to the real estate billionaire. Standing by his side was his wife, Melania Trump.
Trump’s running mate during the 2016 campaigns, Mike Spence, former governor of Indiana took the oath of office as the 47th Vice President of the United States of America.
