Benin Monarch Wants Ethnic Groups to Synergise with Govt for National Development

The Benin Monarch, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku-Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has enjoined the various ethnic groups in the state to join hands with government and traditional institutions to actualise economic growth of the nation.
Oba Ewuare, who made the call on Monday at his Palace in Benin when the Igbo Community Union in Edo paid him a post coronation visit, noted that the contribution of the different groups is the key for the rapid economic growth of the nation.
He said he was willing and ready to accommodate any ethnic group from any part of the world that respects the culture, traditional institutions and the law of the land.
Oba Ewuare II however promised to promptly look into the proposed international market site at Utte, which was allegedly frustrated by activities of Community Development Associations.
He also enjoined the youths to shun all forms of anti-socio behaviours that could jeopardise their future.
Earlier in his speech, the President of Igbo Community Union in the state, Prof. Nathaniel Aniekwu, told the Monarch that they were at his palace to congratulate him on his successful coronation and to pledged their unalloyed loyalty and support to the palace.
Aniekwu, expressed optimism that their presence at the palace will strengthen the existing peace between the Benin monarch and the various ethnic groups in the state.
