Court Arraigns, Remands Six Over Ibadan Col’s ‎Murder

Six suspects, who allegedly robbed and murdered the Commandant of the Command Day Secondary School, Owode, Apata area of Ibadan, Colonel ‎Ekok Anthony Okey, on December 11, 2016, were Wednesday arraigned before the Omi Adio Magistrate’s Court 6 located within the Iyaganku Chief Magistrate’s Court, Ibadan, and later remanded in the Agodi Prison custody.

The suspects, whose pleas were, however, not taken by the court include: ‎Solomon Agada Emmanuel (20), Taiwo Adeniyi (33), Bibisoye Kehinde a.k.a. Efrebor (26), Ewere Andrew (25), Udobata Orusa-Uzi, a.k.a. Kaka (28), and Ephraim Obi (38).

In the charge sheet marked MDD/18c/2017, the Prosecutor, Inspector Fashola Musliu, preferred three counts against the accused persons bordering on conspiracy, robbery and murder of the late Commandant.

The first count had it that the suspects “on December 11, 2016 at about 10.00 p.m at the Command Day Secondary School, Owode, Apata in the Magisterial District did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: robbery and murder, an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000”.

The second count read that the accused persons on the same date and same place robbed the deceased and dispossessed him of his Samsung X4, value unknown “and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 401 and punishable under Section 402 (1) of the criminal code cap 38vol.11 laws of Oyo state of Nigeria 2000”.
