A Lagos State High Court in Igbosere on Thursday presided over by Justice Olabisi Akinlade pronounced them guilty after carefully going through the evidence presented before the court, testimonies of prosecution witnesses, and confessional statements the deceased made to the police.
The trial Judge said she was left with no doubt that the accused killed Cynthia Osukogu.
They court found them guilty of chaining, drugging and strangling the deceased to death at Cosmilla Hotel, FESTAC Town, Lagos, on July 22, 2012.
She also found them guilty of the second charge of committing felony by stealing her Blackberry phone saying the prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused intended and in fact took the life of the deceased in the process of stealing her phone and belongings.
She also found the duo guilty of the third charge – conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to steal.
Justice Akinlade thus sentenced them to death for their roles in the murder.
