One Sustains Head Injuries in Accident Involving Benue Governor’s Convoy

Benue State Governor, Samuel Orton, cheated death Tuesday as his convoy was involved in an accident.
The Governor was said to be returning from Zaki Biam when a Carina ll Toyota car rammed into one of the vehicles in his convoy.
He was returning from his assessment of the gun attack at International Yam Market in the state when the incident occurred.
Although no life was lost, one of the passengers in the car sustained head injury and had to be taken to the hospital on the order of the governor.
Comrade Kris Ambaka, who is the Chairman of the state’s National Union Of Journalists was in the convoy and sustained injuries.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Terver Akase said the accident occurred about 4:30 pm between Abakwa and Adi in Buruku local Government Area.
He said an oncoming vehicle, Carina Two, left its lane and hit the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ bus which was on Governor Ortom’s convoy.
According to him, no life was lost in the incident but one occupant of the Carina car sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital on the directive of the Governor.
