Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have allegedly abducted a staff of Egor Local Government council, in Edo state, Mrs. Augustina Uwadiae.
The victim, who is wife of the Chairman of Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC), was said to have been abducted last Friday at Ugbiyokho community in Egor Local Government Area, while returning home from work.
It was gathered that news of her abduction made many members of staff of the council to abandon duty on Monday, for fear of similar fate.
Husband of the victim, Vincent Uwadiae, who confirmed the incident to journalists on telephone interview, said that her abductors were yet to make demand for ransom payment, adding that he was still waiting to hear from the kidnappers.
