Police Raid Ekweremadu’s Guest House in Abuja

Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate, Uche Anichukwu confirmed, Friday, that the police raided the official guest house of his boss, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, in Maitama, Abuja, Friday morning.
Anichukwu said the raid was carried out by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Squad.
According to him, neither Ekweremadu nor any of his senior aides was informed before the search.
The aide said only the steward was present when the policemen who claimed to be from the Force Headquarters arrived at the 10 Ganges Street, Maitama guest house.
Anichukwu said nothing was found from the search.
The search came two weeks after Senator Ekweremadu alleged of plans by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to raide his home.
However, when contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Moshood Jimoh, denied that policemen carried out the raid.
“It was not us. I have asked all our departments and confirmed none of our officers was there,” Jimoh said.
