The search campaign of the Ekitipanupo has called on the federal and state security operatives to help intensify move on the safe release of the Regional Director, South-South with Dangote Cement Plc, Mr. Olapade Ojoodide who was abducted by unknown gunmen at gunpoint.
In a statement at a press conference signed by Tope Orolu, the Co-ordinator, Intervention Committee on Pade Ojoodide, held on Friday at the Rehoboth Resource Centre, Maryland, Lagos, he stated that Mr Ojoodide has been declared missing since April 22, 2017 after attending an official assignment in Akwa, Anambra.
He (Ojoodide) was said to have been abducted along Warri- Port Harcourt rout by unknown gunmen, while returning to his base in Delta State.
Although the securuty operatives have made efforts to recover his official Black Prado Jeep and handset(phone), however, the family members, friends and Ekitipanupo search group have demanded for urgent measures in a bid to unravel his whereabout.
“Today marks the 83rd day since we last heard or communicated with our brother who until his disappearance was a Regional Director, South-South with Dangote Cement Plc and based in Warri, Delta State. Mr. Olapade Ojoodide travelled to Akwa,, Anambra State in the early hours of Saturday April 22, 2017 to attend an official event being hosted by one of the company’s major distributors. He attended the event with three other directors of the company, after which he was presumed to have travelled back to Asaba to check-out of the hotel where he lodged and thereafter headed to Warri via Port Harcourt and since then, we have not heard from him.
“The case was immediately reported to the Rivers State Police Command in Port Harcourt and the police authorities have been investigating the matter since
then but without any breakthrough. The police command confirmed the case as an abduction and has recovered his mobile phone (handset) and official car, Black Prado Jeep with Registration number: KSF 580 DN.”
Besides, no words have been heard from the alleged abductors of Mr. Olapade, however, Mr. Orolu, who appears not really pleased with the continue delay in the rescue operations, further appealed to the Federal and State Government, the Inspector General of Police and all well-meaning Nigerians to come to their aid so as to unravel the marksmen that have abducted Mr. Olapade Ojoodide.
Efforts have also been made by the Dangote Cement Plc in Delta State in their search for Mr Olapade, which as at today seem not to have yielded positive fruit.
“We are therefore using this opportunity to call on the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Inspector General of Police, Rivers State Government and all well-meaning Nigerians to come to our aid in the search and rescue of our brother from his abductors. While we appreciate the recent efforts of the security agencies aimed at tackling the menace of Kidnapping and other crimes across the nation, we are worried that the continued delay
in the rescue operation might lead to grave consequences that are hard to be imagined. This sad event of his abduction has brought untold hardship tland pain to his wife (Mrs Rose Mary Ojoodide), children, members of the immediate family and the Ekitipanupo family at large.
“We are also using this medium to call on well-meaning Nigerians who might have information as to his whereabout, to please come to our aid and report same at the nearest police station. Mr. Olapade Ojoodide is a native of Okemisi Ekiti. A peace loving and passionate Nigerian citizen. He is fair-skinned, about 1.66m tall and speaks English and Yoruba fluently. Anyone with useful information will be handsomely rewarded.
