CNN Canvasses for Govt of National Unity, Integration Ministry

Coalition For A New Nigeria (CNN), has called for the formation of a unity government to rescue the country from the grips of All Progressives Congress led government.
The Coalition said this has become imperative and as a matter of urgency following the APC failure especially on the economic front where “APC led government has failed Nigerians and a continuation on this will lead the country into a state of anomie”
CNN said in addition to government of national unity, a Ministry of National Integration be created.
The Coalition, which canvassed these in Abuja, while briefing journalists on the state of the nation, said Nigeria has never had it so bad with the division of the country along ethnic, religion lines, adding it is becoming wider and more acute by the day.
The Coalition led by Alhaji Abdulkadir Salam, who read the communiqué, noted that the group was made up of patriotic political parties that have came together to form the Coalition to defend the unity of the country while proffering solution on the ways to move Nigeria in the right direction.
The Coalition observed that there was crass poverty and wealth erosion in Nigeria, followed by a massive and ravaging unemployment.
Furthermore, CNN said internal insecurity and violence occasioned by the unabated attacks of the herdsmen and Boko Haram terrorists have made the APC government a failure.
The body noted with sadness the nation’s economy “that is hobbled by policy inertia, the seeming lack of interest or will on the part of the Federal Government to control this negative and dangerous trend that threatens national unity”
All these, coupled with the slanted propaganda and brigands of the government, said the Coalition, “make jest of us as country”
It said the continuous external borrowing in spite of recoveries of looted funds, new streams of income generated Internally, taxes, duties, among others, which are not visibly applied anywhere in Nigeria, make mockery of APC government.
The Coalition appealed “to all well-meaning political parties and politicians, civil societies, labour leaders and men and women of good conscience across Nigeria and in Diaspora to support our mobile cause. In the same vein we invite all quality persons who desire to contest election with good intention to serve to come on board ”
The group has seven committees “to design a clear cut agenda for the new government that we enthusiastically and dutifully work and to ensure the needed shift in the way this country is governed”
