Okomu Oil to Develop Local Government as CSR

The Managing Director of Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc, Graham Heffer, has disclosed the readiness of his company to contribute immensely to the development​ of Ovia South-West Local Government Area as part of the company corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Heffer gave this indication on Wednesday, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ovia South-West local government area, Comrade Destiny Enabulele, in his office at Iguobazuwa.
He said that the company has always seen itself as being under obligation and is ever ready to pay any legal fee stipulated as tax or levy, by the local government council.
He further disclosed that the company has always budgeted N250 million annually, for its corporate social responsibility for the host local government area.
“We will work with you to facilitate the restoration of full banking operations to Iguobazuwa, and in building a trailer park at Okada Junction, to decongest the Benin/Ore expressway of trucks, and also generate revenue for the council,” Heffer said.
It would be recalled that banks operating in Iguobazuwa, closed shops, following incessant armed robbery cases. But on resumption, Enabulele has bad held talks with bank executives of several banks and heads of security agencies, on ways to restore banking services to Iguobazuwa.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of the government area, Comrade Destiny Enabulele, thanked. Heffer for all that his company has done and is still doing.
He however told Heffer to do more in the area of employment of youths and improvement in their dealings​ with citizens of their host communities.
“We thank you for what and are still doing. But we want you to do more in the area of employment creation for our unemployed youths,” Enabulele said.
Comrade Enabulele and Heffer, in company of other management staff of the council, later visited the DPO of Iguobazuwa police Division, Ibrahim Tasiu, to work out modalities for the return of full banking operations to Iguobazuwa.
