Two Armed Gang Suspects, Allegedly Sponsored by Melaye, Paraded By Kogi State Police

The police on Monday claimed that they have arrested two men said to be members of an armed gang terrorising Kogi State, allegedly armed by Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West at the National Assembly.
While they were paraded at Lokoja, Kogi State, the police said the suspects confessed to have got their weapons and financial support from Melaye.
A statement by police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood said the suspects, identified as Kabiru Saidu and Nuru Salisu, were paraded on Monday in Lokoja, the state capital.
ACP Moshood said the detectives caught the suspects with a cache of arms that included AK-47 rifles and pump action firearms.
The spokesperson also said that the suspects confessed during interrogations that they were being sponsored by Melaye.
The criminal indictments were part of the reasons police wanted to arrest Melaye at Abuja High Court recently, Moshood added.
