Constituents Reject Edo Lawmakers’ Suspension from APC

The recent suspension of the lawmaker representing Owan West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Asein Ojo Victor, by the State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has condemned by the people of the constituency.
Asein was last week suspended from the party for allegedly hobnobbing with some members of the opposition party.
The people in a statement they issued in Uzebba on Tuesday, after a meeting of stakeholders, passed a vote of implicit confidence on the lawmaker who they referred to as the “best representative Owan West has ever had in the Edo State House of Assembly since 1999.”
The statement which was signed by Chief B. A. Eguaoje, the party leader and eleven ward leaders said that they have received and endorsed the report given by the delegation that went to Benin on July 16 to dialogue with the state leadership of the party on the issue of harmonization which arose from the acrimonious congresses.
They insisted that the purpoted suspension of the lawmaker was unconstitutional, null and void; and therefore, of no effect.
In the statement, they pledged their continued support for the lawmaker to enhance his political relevance, so long as he remained a good public servant.
