Election Fever: Akwa Ibom, Gov. Emmanuel Moving Belongings From Government House, Uyo

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Deacon Udo Emmanuel, is reportedly moving his belongings from the Government House, Uyo, in apparent fear that he would be dethroned in the governorship election in the state on March 2, 2019.
The fear is borne out from the fall out with his benefactor, Senator Godswill Akpabio who helped him to become Governor of the state in 2015 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Akpabio has since left for the All Progressives Congress.
According to feelers from the camp of Gov. Emmanuel, he has made attempts to reconcile with his estranged godfather to no avail, hence his decision to start moving his things with defeat staring him in the face.
It was gathered that after several failed attempts to pacify his predecessor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to back down on his decision not to support his re election bid, the embattled Governor, Deacon Emmanuel, has started packing his personal effects from the Hilltop Mansion.
Government House source, who pleaded anonymity informed our reporter, that apart from the resolve of the former Senate Minority Leader, not to support Deacon Emmanuel’s return bid this year, several entreaties made by the governor and emissaries sent to President Mohamadu Buhari failed to taw the ice on his moves.
Deacon Emmanuel was spotted packing out of Akwa Ibom State Government House last week and has also directed his immediate family to relocate to Lagos, information gathered over the weekend from credible Government House source in Uyo, revealed.
