At 8.20 pm yesterday, armed men attacked a branch of Bank PHB and also bombed a police station in Kankara, Kaduna State. The DCO and five other police officers who were on duty were killed in the blast.
The operation was however unique in the sense that out of the money that was stolen from the bank’s vault, about N 10 million was reportedly shared to people who queued up to collect their share of the loot.
The event went a long way in confirming the fears being exercised by many that the country seems to be tending towards a state of anarchy and that some parts of the country are becoming generally unsafe.
