Abuja Woman In Police Net For Selling Stolen Vehicles


One Uju Ibeh is currently cooling her heels in the custody of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police Force in Abuja. Uju who is suspected to be selling stolen vehicles was apprehended alongside one Mohammed Bello, her accomplice. She was recently paraded by the police and she admitted that she receives and sells stolen vehicles. She disclosed that she had received at least three stolen vehicles in time past, all of which were sold to Bello in Sokoto.
When she was paraded before newsmen, she said “I sold a Honda Civic and a Toyota Hilux at N 400,000 each and another Honda Civic at N 600,000. The cars were given to me by my friend who I stay with in Abuja. ”
Bello on his own part however said he buys vehicles from Uju Ibeh for an indigene of Niamey, Niger Republic. He gave the name of the Nigerien as Usman Manu and he revealed that the vehicles he bought are still with Manu in Niger Republic.
Speaking later, Jimoh Moshood, the FCT police spokesman disclosed that Ibeh was arrested in her boyfriend’s Garki home. He also confirmed that the boyfriend is a car thief. According to him, Ibeh and her friends snatched a car from a woman at gun point in Abuja and dumped the particulars of the car in a refuse bin.
The car’s papers were however picked by a passer who then called the owner whose number was contained in the papers. “The owner informed the police and the area was cordoned off and Ibeh was arrested. Three pistols and a number of ammunitions were recovered from her room in addition to car anti-tracking devices” Moshood said.
