The last set of Ministerial nominees appeared before the Senate for screening on Wednesday. Those screened are Dr. Akniwunmi Adesina from Ogun State, Dr. Nurudeen Mohammed from Jigawa, Mrs. Omobola-Johnson Olubusola and Dr. Mohammed Ali Pate from Bauchi.
Dr. Adesina and Dr. Nurudeen Mohammed proved to be the attractions of the day. While Adesina tackled all the agric based questions thrown at him with expertise, Dr. Mohammed, the 35 year-old Consultant Psychiatrist dazzled with his introductory speech and when questions were asked, he proved he was up to the task. Senator Chris Ngige and a number of other Senators with backgrounds in the medical profession were seen following him to the door as he made his exit from the Senate chamber.
All the nominees were confirmed. As it stands now, Taraba is the only state without a representative in the Federal Executive Council as its nominee; Dr. Ando was rejected by the Senate.
