Indiscriminate Use Of Siren: ACN Petitions Police Over Akala

A petition has been sent to the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Moses Onireti by the Oyo State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria over the continuous and indiscriminate use of siren by the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, especially within the state capital.
The petition signed by Matthew Oyedokun, the party’s secretary on Friday, 12th August read inter alia: “the indiscriminate use of siren by the erstwhile Governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has become a source of concern for the good people of the state who have been at the receiving end of this act of illegality.”
The petition also stated that “it is pertinent to inform you that there are many other former Military Administrators and ex-Governors living in Ibadan and none of them indulges in the illegal use of siren and heavy security as in the case of former Governor Alao-Akala. All others, besides Alao-Akala, abide by the law of the state. ”
In a reaction however, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the former Special Adviser to Otunba Alao-Akala on Communications and Strategy said the “new government should concern itself more with the substance of office rather than the paraphernalia”.
