John Mikel Obi’s Father Feared Kidnapped


There are indications that Nigerian international and Chelsea FC midfielder; John Mikel Obi’s father might have been kidnapped. Michael Obi, John Mikel’s father went missing in Jos, Plateau State.
Street Journal found out that Michael Obi, who runs an inter-state transport company did not return home from work on Friday and no one has seen him since then. All efforts to reach him on his mobile phone on Friday proved abortive as none of the calls to his line was answered. By Saturday, the phone was no longer reachable, an indication that it might have been switched off.
John Shittu, Mikel’s Manager however said since there has been no word from anyone about him yet, he is still being considered missing. Street Journal gathered that the news was broken to Mikel before his team’s away game against Stoke City on Sunday and he decided he would play so as not to let his team down. The match ended goalless.
No ransom has been demanded as at the time of filing this report.
