In what appeared to be a revenge of the 4-1 defeat they suffered in the hands of Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Abuja in June, Argentina’s national soccer team, La Albiceleste defeated the Super Eagles by three goals to one on Tuesday. The match was played in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The Super Eagles tried all they could to contain the Argentines as Lionel Messi , Gonzalo Higuain and Di Maria proved to be thorns in the flesh of Nigerian defenders. The Argentines got their first goal in the 25th minute through Higuain while he scored the second one two minutes later.
Nigeria pulled one back just two minutes into the second half through Chinedu Obasi. The introduction of youthful sensation, Ahmed Musa and Emmanuel Ekpo did not yield any goal as the Argentines took the game beyond the Nigerians when a goal bound ball bounced off Elderson Echiejile into the Nigerian goal.
The Eagles who defeated Madagascar two nil on Sunday missed the services of key players like the first choice goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, Joseph Yobo and Taye Taiwo.
