War Crimes: Charles Taylor To Know Fate On April 26


The United Nations War Crimes Court trying Charles Taylor, the former President of Liberia for atrocities committed in Sierra Leone announced on Thursday that it would give its ruling on the case on April 26.

The former Liberian President is on trial at the Special Court for Sierra Leone for alleged murder, rape, conscription of child soldiers and sexual slavery during wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Not less than 250,000 lives were lost in the fighting. A lot of others were crudely maimed by fighters.

Taylor was arrested while trying to flee Nigeria where he had been on asylum sequel to a warrant by the International Court.
