Journalists Arraigned For Complicity In Kano Health Workers’ Killing

Yakubu Musa Fagge and Mubarak Muhammad Sani, a presenter and reporter on the popular Wazobia FM were on Tuesday arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Kano for conspiracy, inciting disturbance, obstruction of public officers from performing their duties and abetting and injurious falsehood. Also arraigned with them was Muhammad Rabo, a former Director of the Kano Films and Censorship Board.

Though the trio denied the contents of the Police First Information Report in which it was alleged that Rabo conspired with the other two to air a programme which defamed the polio immunization programme and instigated the public against the immunization scheme, they were remanded in police custody pending the determination of their bail application on Thursday.

It was alleged that the instigation led to the killing of the health workers last week.
