Ekiti Gets New Deputy Governor!


Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has nominated the Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, Prof. Modupe Adelabu, as successor of the late Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Funmilayo Olayinka who died in April.
Prof Adelabu hails from Ado-Ekiti, the state capital and her choice has been found suitable by key members of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Ekiti State.
Adelabu, a former World Bank consultant worked as a professor of Education at the Obafemi Awolowo University before she was appointed as SUBEB Chairman in July 2011. She was the Head of the Department of Education Administration and Planning before her appointment.
Her name was forwarded to the House of Assembly for consideration and approval in a letter dated May 3, 2013.
Professor Adelabu was born on May 23, 1950. And she started her teaching career in the University of Ife in 1976 as a Graduate Assistant.
