FIFA Confederations Cup: Eagles Pound Tahiti 6- 1


Nigeria’s Super Eagles, on Monday put their late arrival for the FIFA Confederation Cup holding in Brazil behind them as they trounced their counterparts from Tahiti 6-1.
The Eagles showed that they meant business early into the game. Elderson Echejile opened scoring for Nigeria and within three minutes, Nmamdi Oduamdi had made it two for Nigeria.
Odumadi scored Nigeria’s third after the Tahiti goalkeeper missed a cross from Ahmed Musa.
Tahiti pulled one back and by the time play resumed in the second half, goals in the 53rd, 68th and 82nd minutes wrapped up the game.
Odumadi who scored a hat trick became the first player to score a hat trick for the Super Eagles in a FIFA organised tournament.
