Ogun Police Nab 3 Inter-State Armed Robbers


Barely 24 hours after the arrest of eleven suspected armed robbers in Abeokuta Ogun State, the Ogun command of the Nigeria Police Force has again  arrested three confessed armed robbers who operate in Ogun and Oyo states at Obada Oko and Papalanto, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State. They were arrested around 5 am on Sunday. 
According to the spokesman of the command, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the suspects, Abiola Akanni, Eniola Fajobi, and Peter Hammed, are members of a robbery syndicate that got busted in Ifo recently. Adejobi disclosed that members of the syndicate who had been arrested earlier are being prosecuted at the Magistrate Court 2 of Otta with nine suspects arraigned before the Magistrate.
A statement from the Police PRO revealed that “the suspects were arrested as a follow up to the on going investigation into the series of robbery operations of the bust syndicate by a special team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer in Ifo Division,CSP Gbenga Megbope; and the suspects have confessed to the crimes.
Items recovered from the suspects include one locally made double barrelled gun, one locally made single barrelled gun, twenty live cartridges, ten hand sets, jewellery  and three brand new unregistered Bajaj motorcycles  in addition to five guns earlier  recovered from the prosecuted colleagues of the suspects.
The commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye has put all officers and men in the command on their toes for effective policing of the state and to make the state hot for robbers or hoodlums who may want to engage in any criminality in Ogun State”.
