The Ogun State Police command has announced the recovery of two exotic vehicles from armed robbers. Street Journal gathered that the vehicles were recovered at Maria village near Ayetoro in Ogun State.
While confirming the incident, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the PRO of the Ogun State Police Command told Street Journal that the vehicles, a Toyota Highlander SUV and a Toyota Camry were recovered at 3am on Thursday by policemen attached to the Ayetoro Division of Ilaro Area Command.
He stated that that the Toyota Highlander with registration number EKY441 AX, was snatched in Lagos while the Camry with registration number APP 574 BT was snatched in Abeokuta on Wednesday. Adejobi disclosed that both vehicles were intercepted and recovered by a police team led by one Inspector Joseph Uzuegbu after the police team had been put on red alert via the communication network of the Police Force. With that, “we were able to foil the robbers’ movement towards the border”, the PPRO said. He also pointed out that “the policemen engaged the robbers in a gun battle before the vehicles could be recovered”.
While emphasising the command’s readiness to do everything possible to make Ogun State safe during the last three months of the year, the PPRO appealed to the general public to help the police look out for the fleeing injured robbers for possible arrest. He noted that they escaped with bullet wounds.
