Boko Haram Kills 19 Motorists in Borno!


Despite the measures put in place by the Nigerian military to curtail the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group, members of the deadly sect struck again on Sunday. Armed men dressed in military uniform killed 19 people in LKogumani, near the Nigerian border with Cameroon on Sunday. Logumani lies about 30 km away from the border with Cameroon in Borno State.
A survivor disclosed that the gunmen who operated on motorcycles blocked the highway near the town and shot at least 4 motorists while about 14 other people were slaughtered. Three trucks were also burnt.
A member of the local vigilante group confirmed that 19 bodies were recovered from the scene. He said “five of the victims, who included two truck drivers and their assistants, were shot dead while the rest were slaughtered.”
While narrating how it happened, a passenger who survived the attack said “we were asked to get out of our vehicles and lie face down by nine men dressed as soldiers who blocked the road around 5:00 am. They shot dead five people and went about slaughtering 14 others”. He made it known that the figure could have been higher but “someone called them on the phone that soldiers were heading their way. They abandoned the rest of us and sped into the bush on their motorcycles,” the survivor who gave his name as Buba said.
The survivor who was shot in the leg also said “we knew they were Boko Haram from their appearance. Some of the gunmen were bearded, unlike soldiers.”
