Men of the Joint Task Force on Saturday arrested a cargo ship filled to the brim with stolen crude oil.
The vessel, MT Crate was arrested at Chanomi Creek around 8. 50 pm on Saturday. It had 11 Nigerians and 2 Britons on board.
After the arrest of the vessel and its crew, Street Journal gathered that the Captain of the ship offered Captain Abdullahi who led the operation a bribe of N 10 million cash. He also went ahead to offer N 25 million for his boss as well as N 650, 000 for the soldiers.
Captain Abdullahi reportedly collected the money in order to use it as evidence when the suspected bunkerers are charged to court.
Street Journal’s findings revealed that the ship belongs to a well known politician in the Niger Delta region.
