Ondo Assembly Gets First Female Speaker

Hon Jumoke Akindele who represents Okitipupa Constituency 2 in the Ondo State House of Assembly has been elected as the Speaker of the assembly. In the election to fill the Speaker’s position which became vacant following the demise of of Hon Samuel Adesina, Akindele polled a total of 13 votes while Hon Oyebo Aladetan had 9 votes  and Soji Akinkuolie had none. 

The election was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Hon Emiola Dare.

Hon Jumoke Akindele, a legal practitioner, hails from Okitipupa. While speaking after the election, she promised to be committed to the harmony and development of Ondo State.
