President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, a former Governor of Kano State, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye (Ekiti); Abdul Bulama (Yobe); and Dr. Stephen Orlu (Delta) as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The nomination was contained in a letter sent to the Senate President, Senator David Mark and read on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday.
In the letter, President Jonathan sought for the confirmation of the ministerial nominees by the Senate.
Curriculum vitae of nominees were attached to the letter which reads in part:
“In accordance with Section 147 subsection 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended, I have the honour to forward the under listed for consideration for Senate confirmation.”
No nominees were sent from Anambra and Kwara States, both of which are presently not represented on the Federal Executive cabinet.
