The Federal Airports Authority of
Nigeria has announced that the
runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja will be closed for two days to allow rehabilitation work.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the runway will be closed to traffic from July 5 to 7, 2014.
It was contained in a statement signed by Yakubu Dati, the coordinating General Manager of Nigeria’s aviation parastatals, that a Notice To All Airmen of the closure from 11pm on Saturday till 5am on Monday has already been issued at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
It was also made known that the NOTAM has been circulated to all airlines, sister agencies of FAAN and other critical stakeholders.
This facility upgrade is in line with
the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organisation and Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority approved safety and Standard and Recommended Practices.
