4 More Ebola Patients Discharged


The Minister for Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, on Monday disclosed that four more patients who were being treated for the Ebola Virus Disease in Lagos have been discharged.
Three of the discharged patients are medical personnel; two male doctors and a nurse. The fourth person was on admission around the time Patrick Sawyer, the first victim of the disease was on admission at same hospital.
The Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the Minister of Health, Dan Nwomeh said in a statement: “The Minister of Health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu has announced that four additional confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease who have been managed successfully and are now disease free have been discharged home today. It includes two male medical doctors and one female nurse.
The three participated in the treatment of the index case while the fourth person was a female patient at the time the index case was on admission. This brings to five the total number of patients diagnosed with Ebola Virus Disease who have now been discharged from hospital.”
