Ailina Tsarnev, 24, sister of the Boston Marathon bombing suspect was arrested in New York City on Wednesday for making a bomb threat.
Police said Ailina, a sister to Dzokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnev was charged with aggravated harassment after she made a bomb threat to a woman over the phone on Monday. Lt. John Grimpel of the NYPD said the recipient, who had a child for Ailina’s boyfriend called to inform the police about the threat.
Ms Tsarnev, a resident of North Bergen, New Jersey turned herself in to the authorities on Wednesday. She is expected to report to Manhattan Criminal Court on September 30.
Her brothers were accused of planting and detonating bombs at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon, killing 3 people and wounding more than 200 others.
Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with the police while Dzhokar was arrested and will face terrorism charges in November.
