Embattled Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Monday appeared before the seven-member panel set up by the Chief Judge, Suleiman Dikko. The panel is investigating the 16-count charges of impeachment leveled against the Governor by the State Assembly.
After his arrival around 9. 20 am, the Governor waited for about half an hour before the arrival of the members of the panel Yusuf Usman-led panel.
One of the four All Progressives Congress in the Nassarawa State House of Assembly, Othman Bala Adam (Keffi East) was among the politicians that came with Al-Makura to the venue of the sitting.
Nassarawa State’s legislature is made up of 20 members of the Peoples Democratic Party and 4 members of the APC.
Though the panel had not commenced sitting as of the time of filing this report, many believe the Governor’s fate is sealed already and nothing can stop him from being impeached.
