•Promises To Dislodge Governor Ajimobi
Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has congratulated the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari over his victory in last Saturday’s poll.
In a statement by his director of public affairs, Oludare Ogunlana, the former governor was quoted as saluting the doggedness of the former military head of State, promising that he would defeat the incumbent governor of the State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi just like General Muhammadu Buhari defeated the incumbent president.
He commended President Goodluck Jonathan for fulfilling his promise of credible electoral process, adding that his name would continue to ring a bell in the political history of Nigeria.
Saying that nothing can stop an idea whose time has come, he commended Buhari’s courage, describing him as the Abraham Lincoln of our time.
He advised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) not to be overjoyed by its victory in the presidential poll, saying that “they will be shocked to the marrow when Alao-Akala wins the April 11, 2015 governorship election. We understand the fact that people wanted change at the centre and they voted Buhari but that will not save the APC in Oyo State because people are tired of the anti-masses policy of Governor Ajimobil. April 11 will be politically different from March 28, 2015.”
He urged his supporters and people not to relent in their avowed bid to oust the incumbent administration. He also advised the Independent National Electoral Commission to be transparent in its operation.
