Nigeria’s Vice-President, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, has urged Nigerians to support the incoming administration of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to ensure peace and development across the country.
Sambo made the call in Kaduna on Saturday while speaking to newsmen after casting his vote in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections at his polling unit on Police College Road.
According to him, all Nigerians, irrespective of their ethnic and geo-political backgrounds, “should support the incoming administration and continue to sustain the nation’s democratic norms for the good of the society.’’
The Vice-President also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat to Buhari in the March 28 presidential polls and “exhibiting exemplary character before, during and after the March 28 Presidential election.’’
Sambo said that by conceding defeat, Jonathan had set a good precedence in Africa, and urged other African leaders to emulate him.
